Lexi's 2nd Birthday

I can't believe my BABY girl is now 2 years old....where has the time gone? I have enjoyed every second of the last two years with my little lady, and it is hard for me to believe this much time has passed since I brought home my tiny little bug from the hospital.

The plan for her birthday was to go to her 2 year old checkup at the doctor, then off to Sea World.  But mother nature decided to rearrange our day by making it a cold and rainy birthday for Lexi.  I let her sleep in, (she had EARLY mornings all week with my current work schedule) and then we got ready for the doctor. When we came downstairs I had everything decorated in her "Cupcake" Birthday Theme.

I kept telling her Happy Birthday and pointing to all the fun decorations.  She associated her birthday with the table and all the presents on it.  She would point to the table and say "Happy Day Lexi" Cutest little thing ever!  She LOVED all the stuff that was out for her :)

Finally we got out the door and on our way! Doctor was very happy with her progress & said that she is doing very well.  She was impressed at Lexi's speech and that she is *almost* talking in full sentences.  Lexi was so good for the doctor, she was showing off everything she could think of! She loves the spotlight on her :)

After the doctor we decided to go home and have a yummy breakfast, Lexi's favorite for her birthday, eggs and potatoes!  We played for a bit in the house, hoping the rain would stop and the sun would come out.  Nap time came, so Lexi napped and I ran a couple errands while Nathan & Lexi slept at home.

It was obvious by afternoon the rain wasn't going to stop, so we went to an indoor playplace called Pee Wee Bees.  Lexi knows EXACTLY what Pee Wee Bees is and was very excited to go! Before we left Nathan woke up, so we opened a few of Lexi's presents.  She had been asking all day to open her "day" presents.  She opened the ones from her mom & dad.  We got her a keyboard, apron & chef hat set and a Minnie Mouse dress-up dress. She seemed to like them :)

Finally we were off to Bees! We played for almost three hours, and Lexi did not want to leave when we did, but it was time to get home for the rest of her birthday celebration!

When we got home we had dinner and cupcakes & sang Happy Birthday to Lexi. She sure enjoyed her cupcake!

Saturday was the day of her party.  She had gymnastics in the morning and we came home with enough time for lunch and a SHORT nap before her party started. Just a few close friends and their kids came over for about an hour. The kids all played a couple games & then we had cupcakes & cake, which was shaped like a cupcake, all made by me!  Lexi had a blast! She loves playing with other kids :)  Overall it was a fantastic Birthday weekend for my Lexi bug.  I love her so much and feel so blessed to be her Mommy. I sure have a lot to be thankful for!

Lexi got some dress up shoes, which she adores! She has had so much fun with her new found toys! Thanks to everyone who helped make this such a special day!!
